A unique expression of the terrestial and celestial
Gibbston, Central Otago
A 1.2-hectare site at 370-390 metres elevation in Gibbston,
shaped by cool climate, free-draining soils and dramatic
diurnal shifts. The north-facing slope provides natural protection
against frosts.
The vineyard is exclusively planted with Pinot Noir varietals. Slow, even
ripening preserves purity of cherry and raspberry, layered with spice,
earth and delicate florals.
Hand-harvested, and crafted by Antony Worch of Alexandra vintners.
Small open fermentations and maturation in carefully selected
French oak enhance texture without overshadowing elegance.
Produced in extremely limited quantities for international allocation.
Purchased in 2022 by former professional astronomer Brian Boyle,
the vineyard sits on a world-class terroir and below an international
Dark Sky Park. An astronomical observatory now nestles between the vines,
imaging deep sky every clear night.
This special "Dark Sky" Pinot Noir is dedicated to this confluence of nature.
Each vintage has its own deep space label and 25% of profits are donated
to Dark Sky International.
